Tops - any preference?

I'm looking for a new top. There are so many to choose from.
Can anyone ppoint me in the right direction? I'm thinking about some sort of vinyl (easier to clean?) Not that I will have the top up very much...

Vinyl is the cheapest and easiest to care for but also the most difficult to fit in cold weather. Canvas looks great but requires more care. Expensive, too.

Thanks so much! You have confirmed what I have suspected all along. Is there a brand that is better, or will the least expensive do the job. I concerned about the fit once it is installed.

I'll second John's endorsement of Robbins tops: been fitting them to LBC's for 30 years. They look good, fit well and don't cost a fortune... half a fortune, mebbe /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I ~really~ like the looks of the canvas tops, but they're pricey as people have stated already. My next prefered style top is vinyl with the zip out rear window. I'll probably be going with one of those due to budget constraints.

Speaking about tops. I have a Robbins, but I will say, I have problems with snapping it down. Those loops seem to move and I cant get it to snap no matter how much I have moved them around. I even broke one, and the snaps are sewn into the vinyl where you cant get to them to replace.
Any suggestions from any of you out there on snapping them or replacing the snaps.

Thanks

All my current MGB's came with pretty nice Vinyl zip out window stlye tops....not sure what make they are but they are very close to OEM(one might be the original) but once they start to look ratty i'll be replacing with canvas, I just love the look and around here the top is up alot. The zip out window is a wonderful feature, I would buy a top without it, perfect for those days when you don't have 10 minutes to fold the top but still want to enjoy the wind in your hair.

I recently bought and fit an aabest.com top. It was cheap, but I got what I payed for. It fits horribly, has two torn seams already, and another seam looks like it is about to bust. My reccomendation is to spend a little more on a brand name top.
