Kingpin bushings are new, reamed, and turn fine on the kingpin

The kingpin kit came with various washer-spacers for the top trunnion bearing. The R side took 1 washer on each side of the bronze bushing per the manual and the old set up.

The problem is the L side as I now have 4 washers plus the bronze bushing in an attempt to give clearance. This is still not sufficent, and when the top nut is tightened I cannot turn the spindle by hand
The spindle truns fine and no up and down end play with the 4 spacers until I tightne the nut past snug

I think you amy have too many spacers. Try going the opposite way with the amount of spacers.

Bingo!

Plus, those shim washers are of varying thickness, so some shuffling may be required to get the optimum setting.

that is what I get for working late and rushing to finish - too many spacers would make it too tight

Went with the 2 thinnest ones and it works fine.
Thanks once again
