Richard Hammond (AKA "Hamster"), one of the cheerful lads on the BBC show, "Top Gear", has been hurt badly in a jet-car accident.

Updated Info Here

Tha't my favorite show. I hope he pulls through.

Well, if theres a way for a guy like that to go out it's definatly in a Jet Car

Definitely sad to hear. He's a very entertaining chap, and I'm a big fan of his show. Hope he pulls through okay.

The guys on Piston Heads Forum have set up a donations page for the Air Ambulance service that Airlifted the hamster to hospital.
Over ÂŁ17000 had been raised so far when I checked a few mins ago. It is completely funded by donations, and goes to help anyone in need of rapid move to hospital - mainly ordinary people, but occasionally celebs, so whatever the outcome, some good will come from this accident.
When he's back on the show Clarkson is going to give him such grief about bending a rocket car!

that's good to hear... I wonder if he'll be going anymore nutzo stunts like the one that put him in the hospital anymore.

I expect that he would, if he recovers well enough. Seems to be in his blood to do some pretty extreme stuff. Really nice to hear that he is mending.
