I bought a top boot for Baby Blue and got around to the installation tonight. Having learned from my mistakes installing the convertible top, the boot was easier and I did a better job getting the proper fit with the Tenex fasteners. The only burp was the kit only supplied 6 Tenex fasteners, and the Sprite has 8 nipples, so I figured I'd dig into my parts bin for the final two...well, now I know why there were only 6 as the rearmost two nipples disturb the lines of the boot. Even so, all I have to say is the boot really makes the car look clean and sexy! I'll have to get some piccys once the car is outside.

I'll work on the interior snaps tomorrow night. I actually bought the tool for the snaps when I bought the top 18 months ago. Of course, now I can't find it. Any good household substitute for a snap installer tool?
 
Go by Lowes or local JoAnn Fabrics and you'll find one for less than $5. And as soon as you get home you'll find your good took you've been looking for.
 
Finished the boot tonight. Didn't find the tool, but made a really good substitute from a bolt. Spent intake or exhaust valves worked pretty well, too.

I'm really impressed with how clean the boot makes the car appears with the top down. It's inspired me to have the tonneau cover checked over by an upholstery shop to see if it can be salvaged or reconditioned. Worst case is that it would be a pattern for a new tonneau.
