Top and Sidescreen materials

I'll be replacing the convertible top, and replacing or rebuilding the sidescreens on my '59 TR3A. The two major suppliers I'm familiar with are Moss and Roadster Factory. Together, these two list 3 or 4 different materials for the top and sidescreens. I'm interested in opinions from others who've dealt with any of these materials. Which is best (or best value) and why? Are there any other options?

Moss:
"vinyl" or "Sunfast Canvas"

TRF:
"Robbins", "Everflex Vinyl", or "Sunfast"

Howdy, Tex -

I've got the Everflex top and curtains on my TR3. I really like the material - plenty strong, and after four years, they have held up very well. That said, neither the top nor the curtains see much weather, but still satisfied. Oh, and by the way, I had TRF rebuild my curtains. Very nice work!

I also have a sunfast top which will go on the MGB I'm restoring. No doubt, the canvas is a classier look, and as it's still in the box, I can't report on its use yet. But I'm sure someone else will be along with comments.

Welcome to the Forum!

My side curtains are whatever material TRF uses -- looks pretty much like top material but maybe a touch grayer than deep black. Real nice 20 years on though they see only occasional use.

It would take a pretty crafty person to rebuild the side curtains -- or maybe you meant you would have them rebuilt.

In case you don't know, TRF has their side curtain rebuild on sale thru Thanksgiving Day -- reg. $569.95, sale price $429.95.
