Tool for dash fittings? Steering column picture.

Hello,
I am still putting together my '69 Tr6, which was mostly in parts when I recieved it. I am currently working on the dash. There are a number of pieces, such as the emergency light or ignition switch that has a slot going across it. Is there a special tool that fits these? What is it called, and where can I get one. None of the parts stores locally was able to help me.

On the subject of the dash, is there anyone who could send me a picture looking up at the steering column? I only have one stut that attaches at the top right corner, and I suspect there must be at least one more strut on the left side. Anyone know where I can get one also?

The last thing I need is a source for used parts. I would say my car is about 95% complete, so I just need some odds and ends. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Kevin

It is low tech, but you can tighten the bezels on your emergency light/ignition by hand and then use a popsicle stick to complete the task. I replaced the dash in my MG TD with a high gloss dash, and used this method. If you slip, it will not damage your finish.

I have some TR4 odds and ends and some TR6 parts are common to the TR6. Let me know what you need and I will see if I have it. Also look at a posting about an other fellow who is selling off his project piece by piece. There may be some parts there. I think Alan posted it yesterday.

Dunno what size the bezels are on the TR6 but I found a plastic divot tool (golf) works well for the little slots on the generator/turn signal indicator lights, etc.

Tman,

I have at least one of everything you might ever want. Well maybe not everything but a lot of "stuff". Let me know what you need.

Re: Tool for dash fittings? Steering column pictur

Thanks for the offer Don. Here is a list of the parts I need for my 69 TR6:

side marker lamp, right side
stop lens, left side
jack and jack handle
interior door opening handle
four springs that fit behind interior handles
2 plastic pieces that fit behind handles
steering column bracket on left side (I have one bracket on the right side - the steering column clamp has four slots - do you know how many brakets there are supposed to be?)
light switch escutcheon (right side)
gear lever parts (locating pin, anti rattle plunger and spring) The gear lever currently just lifts out - are these pieces all that are needed to hold it in place?
air duct for radiator
brackets for oil, fuel, and amp gauges that hold it to the dash
2 warning lamps (mine are rusted together)

Let me know what you have and the prices. Thank you so much for your time.
Kevin
