First I wanted to ask what purpose the two tabs are for pictured on the top of my MG's Tonneau Cover?

They are the same design as the one which hold down the cover in various spots around the perimeter, but I do not see the purpose of these two in the middle?

Second, I wanted to point out to anyone who has an issue with the zippers, they can be changed, and for the better. The primary one in the center had become worn and rusted in places. It made zipping the cover up a pain, and it also seemed to leak some after a heavy rain.

So I went to a local vendor who installed a weatherproof zipper which is a breeze to zip up, and it does not allow any water intrusion into the cab.

You can see the difference when compared to the two original ones I still have on the back(they are still in good shape)

Mine is built different...but I suspect those tabs attach to the heel board behind the seats when you fold the tonneau down to use as a half tonneau. You should have lift a dot studs on the heel board.

I also had new zippers put in my old (but in good shape) AMCO tonneau by a fellow British car club member.
