I m fitting a Robbins TRF tonneau,later style for post 60k body.
Looks like its going to fit nice, but have just started.

There is a flap at the slit where it tucks behind the seat back.If the cover is fitted all the way around, the flap goes over the peg.
Does the flap get a hole punched to fit over the peg or did it just fold out of the way?
Thanks
Tom

I believe it should have a hole to fit over the peg.

I cheated and had my local upholstery shop install mine, and he cut the hole and installed a brass grommet. We wondered at the time if the standard LTD peg was long enough and it is.

I also used a brass grommet on the inner flap which then gets trapped when the outer flap (which has the LTD) is secured:

Thanks for replies, and Geo for the pics.I guess its a hole for now.
Thanks
Tom

PM me with your mailing address and I will send you a bunch of grommets.

You won't have the installation tool but I can also send a pic of that - you can probably find something in the tool box that will do the job.

Are we talking tonneau cover or hood stick cover? My tonneau doesn't have that and I don't have a hood stick cover.

Mine was a snug fit on the standard peg (possibly it was the grommet I used) so I finally replaced the LTD with a longer version from here:

Thanks Geo for the generous offer, but I actually have a few grommet assortment packs with the setting tool.Havent seem them in awhile but there around here somewhere.
I will decide on grommet or just a hole after the cover is completely fitted.

Also thanks to the Mac's link for the longer peg.I could have used them for the capping install on the inside corners for the hood stick cover.TRF and Moss did not have them, and they didn't come in the Robbins kit for hood or hood stick cover.I just tuck the corners in now, because the supplied standard pegs are too short ,but found at 85 the cover wants to blow off.
Thanks
Tom

...My tonneau doesn't have that...

Early tonneaus did not have the slit -- which reduces the strain on the rear of the zipper seam, especially when only the drivers side is undone and tucked behind the seat. As I recall, if the tonneau has the slit described then the location of the LTD peg is slightly different.

The Moss catalog shows a change point at TS4743 which I think is that slit.

You can see the slit in this shot:

I use a regular length peg there (but not the very short one sometimes seen). You do have the female LTD fastened so it attaches sort of upside-down and inside-out? Not the most intuitive set-up but usually quite secure:

Thanks again for the pics Geo.My fastener is installed like yours, but for some reason my inside dog leg panel beading almost touches the peg base, preventing full seating of the snap.

My tonneau doesn't have that and I don't have a hood stick cover.
There were several different patterns of tonneau cover, as the pegs moved around during production. TRF lists two change points, one at TS28875 when the pegs moved to accommodate the Dzus button side curtains, and another at TS41742. The SPC also lists two very early change points, TS1872 and TS5256.

However, I'm convinced that there is at least one more, as none of the commercially available covers will reach all of the apparently original pegs on TS13571L. I had some discussion with TRF on that subject, but nothing ever came of it. Unfortunately I neglected to take pictures while the car was bare metal, and of course I can't prove that the doors haven't been replaced.

Here's a photo showing a post-41742 cover in position on top of TS13571L, showing how that peg moved.
