If your top is all the way down, the ends of the tube should slide into the recievers on the car.

Remove the rear wheels and look closely at the wall in front of the axle. The ones on my BJ8 were painted over. I measured the placement on someone care which gave me the place to look and I found the holes. Some of the wiring and break lines may be hiding them. One clip was mounted upside down causing the hole to be hidden.
