Binabox comes home!

Dahubby and another guy from our car club are heading down to Tony Barnhill's tomorrow morning to pick her up! By Thursday evening I'll have a new 'toy!'

Overdrive for Emma will be here today or tomorrow.

Life is good. Life is very, very good!

COOL! Have 'em stop by for coffee - I could probably meet them at one of the exits, if they have time.

Mickey

They're leaving here by 7am tomorrow, looking to hit Nashville about 12-12:30. How far are you from Nashville? Name an exit, and I'll talk to him and see if he can do that. It might be on the way back Thursday, but I won't know what time they're leaving until they call Thurs morning. I wouldn't count on it though Mickey, I know my husband, and when he's travelling, it's like he's on a mission. Get there. Get home. I can barely convince him to make potty stops!!

Yep - I'm the same way. But if he needs to stop for gas, or the rare event of a potty break, I'm pretty close to exit 4 or 11, and Clarksville is 45 miles your side of Nashville.

Am waiting on a call about picking up the TR3, but otherwise will be available both days.

Mickey

I'm in Nashville and would love to meet up with both car and hub for a moment...do you have the layette ready?

Well, the boat's in storage, Emma is scooched over as far as I can get her to this side of the garage. 2 shelves are emptied for the layette! I have my eye on a 3 synchro tranny, the Moss catalog dogeared just about every page & paint colors I like saved! I'm so ready to start this project. In fact, I want to skip Thanksgiving and take that 4 day weekend and work on cars instead of cooking for a dozen people. That still might happen.

We have the garage from heck. I always kid dahubby if something happens to him, I'm keeping a wrench, a screwdriver, a hammer & a ladder. The rest is gone. Of course now I have to add car stands and hydraulic jacks and ALL the car paraphenalia!

I think I'm going to do a little fall cleaning *GASP* in his garage while he's gone the next 2 days. Maybe it will inspire me to tackle the basement in my lifetime!

I'll tell him, but I seriously doubt I can get him to stop. And since I'm not going along...

When you get through would you please come do mine too JB.---Keoke-- /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cryin.gif

I'll clean your garage if you clean my basement! I'm fairly certain Jimmy Hoffa & Amelia Earhart are down there somewhere.

mehehh... Notin' like a new project for motivatin' a garage cleanout.

There's rumor of a Lotus Elan ~somewhere~ here in my garage, buried under a mountain of MG and Alfa debris. I'll look for it in about mid-February, after SWMBO's MG is "road tested."

Janel - I just had a Christmas gift idea...go by Harbor Freight & pick him up a couple of pairs of 'car skates'! With them, he can move Binabox anywhere he wants - by himself!

I know Tony, I saw some of those. And I know he wants some car ramps too. I'm getting those tomorrow night while he's gone. We don't have a Harbor Freight but we have a Cummins. And if all else fails, I'll hit Sears or Advanced Auto!

Jack stands are better than ramps. In several ways. Get him a decent set of those instead.

I typically olny use ramps in two situations...

1) If I need to raise four wheels off the ground, I drive onto the ramps, then lift the other side of the car. It's more stable that way.

2) If I need to work in an area where the jack stands would be in the way.

I can't remember tha last time I actually used the ramps, and when I get a lift I will be giving them away.

We have 2 perfectly good sets of jack stands, and 2 hydraulic jacks. I'll scratch the ramps off the list and look for the roller skates.

oo oo oo oo ... a 4 poster lift for the garage! erm... assuming you have a high enough cieling ... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

How about one of those clear plastic onflato-capsules for your car? then you could have binabubble. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

We don't have a high enough ceiling. But I was looking at this portable small car garage on Harbor Freight for $200...

you know... I was looking at one of those "modular" rubbermaid/plastic tool sheds not too long ago. Those things are big enough, or can be made big enough to house a 'B. However, you might have to climb your way out of the car. Then again, you could put doors on the sides of the shed as well as the back to easy getting in and out of the car while it's in there... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have my B in one of those tin sheds, 10X12 feet. I had to make a "bump" at the back to allow enough length, then remove part of the front wall and one of the sliding doors to allow for access. A home made folding door satisfies the insurance people. Another thing: if anyone uses a metal shed, expect condensation all over the car. I installed a full width, full length inside double ceiling. That is I hung a tarp inside the shed. It is an inexpensive way to have a temporary garage. FWIW,

Guinn
