It's a chinese special, but it's fully functional and with a couple upgrades (gun, screen protector, foot pedal, collector, etc) it will be very handy.
Doug, no it wasn't a fire sale or out of a van. LOL! It was a local pickup only, get it the heck out of our shop kind of deal.
One of my planned mods is to remove the POS light altogether. I will then cut a hole in the top of the cabinet and mount a big halogen work lamp. You can pick them up for $10 or less and they are very bright.
Thats what I did, made a home brew light! OH B.T.W. the hose clamps sux too! I replaced mine with the spiral screw type {Automotive}. I also added an air regulator for intricate sensitive parts that can`t stand the 120 P.S.I. I normally use for rusty stuff. You`ll need an air dryer too! The media pickup tube will clogg up with the slightest bit of moisture.
Still a good deal!
I have a big water trap already but I'll probably add a second one right by the cabinet, which is outside. A regulator will be a must. The biggest obstacle will be rigging up an effective dust collector without spending too much money.
Nice snag!!!! Definitly one of those "I want one in MY garage" finds!!! No price like NO price!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif
I found them on ebay as cheap as $100 but no where near as a deal as a $1. I have debated getting one but I have a 6 footer at work I can use anytime I want. Not as nice as having it in the garage but I bring most of what I need here and take care of it on break and lunch.
If I had one I could borrow that was close to me, I'd rather use that. Sandblasters aren't really as fun as they look. They are dirty machines which require a lot of maintenance.
I agree. This one I use has all the bells and whistles so you never get dirty at all. I've wanted to get a small one to do the little things I may have forgotten while I'm working in my garage. It's only 10 minutes away but getting the parts driving there alarms.....a small one would be conveinient. Plus with all the cars and space at a premium, I like the work option. Wheels and large items always go right the shop.
