Basil, I had some time to reflect on this, and I got your message. When I looked this morning and saw you had deleted my post, I was furious. I took the time to post it in every one of the different make forums, so as to not leave anyone out, in fact I was going to get the few I missed this morning tommorow. I first felt as if I was being picked on for trying to do something good for the community. Sometimes we in the community see certain people here as only here to make a buck, I'm sure some see me this way, and some see you this way as well, when in fact we're mostly here for our love of the hobby, and if were truely about money, we'd be doing something else:smile:. I had saw other events posted here before, so I thought I was doing nothing wrong, and just thought I was being singled out. Your point is taken, I didn't even know there was a local event forum, I mostly come here because this is the best Spridget forum on the net, and while I occasionally visit the MG and Triumph forums, I don't look at the rest of them very much, if ever.

I'm not sure the logic of putting stuff in so many catagories that it often times get lost, but this is your forum, and a good one, and you make the rules, and I now understand you were not picking on me. Sorry for the commotion.

I know what it is Hap. It's too darn hot in your shop to think properly.

I swear the summer heat is worse every year and yet I know it is only me getting older.

Before too long it will be nice outside again and we can all enjoy.

I had not got to the heat yet, I was still living in a AC wrold when I wrote that stuff Jack

Forums rules are a good thing, but sometimes they hurt the community not trying to. For example Superlite wheels started a internet group buy deal a few months ago, and it offered big discounts to any group for buying these wheels, discounts that might not ever be around again for MGs, anyway it could not be posted here, Brent the guy who started the group tried to post here and it was deleted, per forum rules. Brent was frustrated and came to me asking me about it, as he is just a regular Spridget guy was trying to get the volume of his group up to the max level for max discount allowed for the group buy, I told him Basil has strict rules dealing with soliciting, which are very good rules for most cases, but in this case Superlite was selling wheels near cost to get their name out there, and many of you missed out on this offer unless you visited some of the other forums that allowed it. Rules are great things, but sometimes they need to looked at as indiviudual cases, because sometime stuff that may not be within the rules of a given enviroment are good for the community in whole. I'm way over this now, I respect Basil for running a tight ship, it's like everything else, including me, it sometimes has flaws, the important thing is Basil is trying hard to run a good forum, hey nothing is perfect.

Hap
