I want to install some nice high-performance tires on my B. What do you all think about Sumitomo HTR 200s?

I have a set on my BGT. The upside is that they grip very well and perform admirably in wet or dry conditions. The downside is that they have weak sidewalls so they do require more pressure than other tires of equal size, which makes the ride a bit rough. I've had a couple flats with them but others have had better luck. My next tires on this car won't be Sumitomos.

Where's the best place to find Avids? I'm still leaning towards the Sumis. Price wise and performance wise, they seem a good fit. I'm a young guy, so I can handle a rougher ride. Conversely, money is a big issue.

Check out tirerack.com and plug in your size. Sumi's are a great value. I use an all season tire until next year, but I like the Yokohama's, too.

click through Basil's Tire Rack ad when you're ready to buy, and the BCF gets a little money to keep going. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I run Eagle GTs on my 300ZX. I had similar on my MGC...but now have Goodyear Assurance.

I've been pleased with both.
