Tire prices going up?

Not just Chinese tyres.

I was having a conversation with a colleague at Continental (Germany) and he told me that there's lots of industry price rises waiting to be implemented as soon as 'consumer confidence' is restored. Lots if corporations need to rebuild their balance sheets and the price deflation we've all seen due to the 'China' effect is going to be well and truly over. In his opinion nothing is ever going to be a cheap again.

Also if it wasn't for the cold winter in Europe and the subsequent need for winter tyres that had been put off for the last couple of years some tyre manufacturers and big distributors would have been paddleless up the proverbial creek.

Hey all,
I have been told that Kumho no longer makes the size most of us need
for our Healeys 165/80 x 15. I found what appears to be a nice low
cost option from Discount Tire by another Taiwan mfg, NanKang. Good
reviews on the site by other purchasers for other cars. Haven't driven
on them yet but very similar to the Kumho in tread design and cost. Only
$52/tire delivered. If you're on a budget, might be worth a look.
Regards,
Mike
