Tire pressure - do we, or don't we?

Thanks gentlemen. Decided to pressurize tires to 33 this morning ("cold"). Then check psi after 30 minutes on interstate. If the tire says "max psi 45", and 30 minute drive at 70 raises above 45 psi, then I'll reduce psi to the 33 indicated on the door pillar. Seems more art than science.

(This reminds me of several years ago, a long BCF thread about tire gauge accuracy. That was a doozy.)

Vette Makes a good story on how our tires can change. Driving a LBC that can be 50 years old our sensor is the driver and keeping a gage that reads true. Living in the Reno NV. area temps can change by 40 plus DEG. in the same day or the same drive say going to Lake Tahoe. On one of my road trips in Sothern Utah at 8,000 feet and 20 deg over night my next stop was Vegas I only checked lug nuts and kicked the tires as I knew it would soon change. My new KIA has all the tire bells and such but sitting in the garage most all days with C19 about it becomes just checking ounce a month but then the car is telling me that.
I think these Threads tell us 4 pounds plus or less works for most cars and driving conditions. Madflyer
