Specifically the top/bottom links and swivel pin and arm and steering knuckle?

Do you have a spring compressor? If not you can borrow mine if you're in the area. Some people like to just rest the suspension on a jack, undo one of the bolts and then lower the jack. It works but there is always the risk of something slipping so I choose to use the correct tools for the job.

In fact if you're in my area over the next keep I'm rebuilding two front ends including king pins, one MGA and one MGB. You can see how it all comes apart and goes together. B is nearly done, A is just starting.

Thanks Steve - really appreciate the offer! Will probably take you up on that.

I've got the front taken apart to it's major components. On one side the top link, part #7 just unscrewed off without any problem but the other side doesn't want to keep turning to a point where it comes off. Just use more pressure?

Any tips on removing the steering knuckled from the drum plate? (my is 4 wheel drum).

I hit them with penetrating oil earlier today but it doesn't look like it's every been apart - I'm expecting a fight.

Oh, so you already have it basically apart then! As for the stuck hardware, my answer is a sizable pneumatic impact wrench. It's the easiest way I've found once the parts are already off the car where you have less torque.

What car are yu working on that has 4-wheel drums?

I bet it is an MGA. Do I win the prize??

Is the bolt and bushing(#10 ) out. As i recall these need to be out before the part #7 will unscrew. Bob

Ah - well that seems like a good point. LOL. Let me remove them and try again.
