TIME's 50 Worst Cars of All Time

Not sure I agree with most (seems there are quite a few missing) making the list and am sure there are afew folks here who'll be more than a little upset with TIME.
TIME Mag's 50 worst cars of all time.

So'd your car make the list. I owned three of them and don't think any of them belonged on the list. But by the same token I could think of another three of mine that should've been on the list.

Hmm... I've got a couple of books on the subject of worst cars, but neither of those had the MGA Twin Cam or the TR-7.

I'm surprised the BMW Isetta and Chevrolet Vega didn't make it in Time's list.

Time didn't even get the picture right for the TR7. They referenced the 1975 year, then show a DHC, which weren't even introduced until 1979.

What? No Fuego? Gee. They did include the Yugo though.

I'm reminded of an episode of "Top Gear" I saw. One of the guys liked MGs (older, MGs). Another couldn't stop making immature comments about them for all kinds of reasons.

To each his own.

I found it an amusing read over my lunch break -- mostly just to see pictures of interesting cars. It's a list article, and I take those with a heavy dose of salt. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I think the Time folks knew exactly what they were doing with that article -- it's all over lots of car blogs and forums today, lots of folks popped in to the Time site to read it. We may not agree with it, but we did read it...

Who is this jerk who claims that the Model T was the Yugo of it's day and then leaves out the worst vehicle power train ever made, the Chevy Vega. It was a throw away car. A real insult to the automotive industry. The Yugo, well that's another story. Henry Ford was a genious. He's the only manufacturer that I've ever heard of that specified how the shipping crates were to be made by his suppliers. They would be then disassembled and used in the cars as running boards, floor boards etc, without having to cut them to fit. I guess because you work for Time, your an authority on everything.

I had the same reaction at first, until I realized it was a jerk whose business it is to sell magazines and get hits on their website.

Your right John, bad as newspaper reporters. Write anything to get you to buy their paper. The sad part of it all is, it works!

Suprise, suprise, a bunch more stuff I don't agree with Time magazine on.

The "Twinkie" & Elite ???

Blasphemy!!!

Wash yer mouth out w/ carb cleaner!

A completely crazy list with crazy reasons.

The Model T and Explorer make it for being too popular.

Others make it for being too weird and strange- the Fuller, the Aerobile, the Amphicar...

And lots of them couldn't have sold more than a few hundred, or even a few... Propane Morgans? Moslers? Zunndapp? even A-M Lagondas...

And isn't it just a little odd that no Japanese or Oriental offering makes the list....

Well, off the list, the only one I've owned is the 1958 MGA Twin Cam (it was too exotic for me & was quickly sold when the water pump needed replacing).

I owned a Renault Fuego Turbo - great, fun car! If I could find another like it, I'd buy it!

Gotta agree with that, PAUL, if you're talking about the standard engine - but, I owned a Cosworth-engined Vega GT..WOO HOO!

I rented one of those a few years ago visiting the UK. Ugly is right, when I got out of the City people walking would stop and stare as we rolled by!

However; it was a great vehicle with lots of room and great window area; unfortunately the gearshift is on top of the dashboard and reminded me of a "pudding stirrer"
