TR2/3/3A Time to sell the TR2

I'm Firmly making the decision this time. I'm not just testing the waters. It's been 7 years, and I have made very little headway on this project. I need the space, and it looks as if the money will never materialize to finish this.
So, this is an unofficial classified to offer this project here first. this forum is a great community and help to me, and I intend to stick around regardless of being britishcarless. Too many friends here to say goodby.
Down to brass tacks.
This is a 54 TR2 short door project (TS5012LO). Very little rust, but also very little assembled. Rolling chassis with body on.
Tons of extra parts. You get my entire stash of TR stuff. Bring a full sized pickup truck and trailer.
I'm asking $5000 for all of it.
For pics, follow the link in my signature to the blog. send me a PM, I'll give you all the details. lets talk. Next step will be Craigslist if no one is interested here.
I know it's the end of a dream, but I'm fine with it. I've struggled for weeks to post this, but I keep coming to the conclusion that this is right.
Thanks guys.

I know that's a tough call for you to make, but got to do what you got to do. I know I struggled with the idea of selling my Bugeye, but in the end it was absolutely the right decision. Good luck with the sale.

Just sold the TR and couldn't be happier. You'll like having the money more than the car. Besides, you can buy something that runs. You need a Midget.

Hi There Banjo,

As you know; I too sold my `57 Small Mouth to a really nice gent just around the corner from me. I have a really nice `73TR6 coming in around Mid May.

The nice part for me is that I`m assisting the new owner of my TR3 in completing her. So; I`ll have an opportunity to drive her etc etc. I`m not so sure that is all that great. I may get really sick when I`m behind the steering wheel!!!!!!

Good Luck with your Sale! $5K??

That's really cool Russ. Glad to hear it's working out so well for ya.
Yea, 5K. I sat down, and looked in to what I have in it, what all is there, what kind of shape stuff is in, and did some investigation on buying a TR2. I believe that's a fair deal for a minimal rust TR2 project. I don't think you'll find an unrestored project TR2 any more solid or complete (as in having most all the parts) than this one in this range. TR2s are a little harder to find than a 3.
that's my story and I'm stickin to it! hehehehehe :jester:

Stick to your guns, I'd send you a PM except I've got NM. :thirsty:
That's a common theme. I'm trying to sell my old work truck right now too. Same issue. lots of interest, noone with the cash, yet....
I'm willing to bargain on the TR. Not looking to trade though, I'm trying to clear out stuff. It's also good that I'm not in a big rush.

Too bad it had to end this way. With all of the parts contributed I thought that you were well on your way to having a very unique "rat rod", which in this hobby is a rarity, indeed.

Good luck with the sale.

Paul, That was one of the things that I struggled with the most, all the gracious help I received from this family. I hope you don't take it as a betrayal. I will be passing along all the goodies I got for the car, and with them should go some good Juju for the new owner. That was a big part of why I'm only listing it here right now. I'd rather it went to a supporter, or friend of a supporter of this forum.
The real decision for me came after my latest push to keep going, on the smallest budget possible, still got stalled for lack of funding. Someday I may be in a better financial place to take on a project like this, even a low budget one, but it seems that it's not now, or even in the foreseeable future.
If I had some land or a barn, I'd just tuck it aside for a while. But my 20x20 garage is it, and a project like this takes up a large portion of it.

Good value at $5K asking price for the project. LHD TR2's are highly sought after by European collectors and big money is changing hands for well rebuilt examples.

Viv.

I was just hoping to see it completed. I liked the concept and hopefully, some enthusiast will continue the journey you started. Not all projects that we take on turn out as we hope they will.

OK fellas. I promise to only dig this old thread up this once. To those asking for pics, I'm sorry. All my good ones are on my old computer, and trapped till I can get it back up and working. The car is a bit buried in the garage, and the weather has not been cooperative in digging it out and getting some detail shots.
Not sure if any of the interest I had was very serious. I'm open to offers. I'll be pursuing some different sales options soon. VTR,craigslist... I just wanted to give the offer here first.
If any were serious, but are waiting on me for pics, keep bugging me.
That is all...

Sorry to hear, but sometimes it's better to get rid of a project which is coming to a dead end.Hope it goes to a good home.
