Anyone have any experience with a Tilton 3 cylinder assembly, part #72-605? I want to upgrade the stock cylinders on my 67 Sprite. I know there is some cutting that has to be done to get it to fit. If I go with this, I was thinking of going with the 3/4" bore. Any other kits out there that have been used? OK guys, let the knowledge and experience roll.

The common first upgrade is to MGB front caliper's and spitfire rotors. You can go to bigger drums in the back or a disc setup as well.
Then your Tilton balance system would probably come in handy. Need guys with more experience than me to chime in.

I'm running that set up but I did do all the line with AN fitting and also I'm running mazda RX7 brakes but I'm running 3/4 bore (tryed 1" bore braking was to hard)
I will get out there and take some pic's on how i made the mount
 
I have this setup in my A35 vintage race saloon, but it hasn't turned a wheel (yet).

I'm not done with all the plumbing. Seems like a good quality setup so far. I'm running 3/4" bores and stock Spridget brakes. I'll have the car out on-track later in the year.
 
I have the Tilton 74 series on my brake and clutch and with a little fabrication from the po it fits nicely in the original box. They are 3/4" bores and give a nice feel. The kits come with all the fittings and remote capability if you need it.

My reason for the master cylinder upgrade is safety. If there is a failure in part of the brake system, I will still have brakes with the dual cylinders.
 
I think I am sold. If Nial is going to use them on one of his race cars, they sure as heck will work for me.

Question (not totally related): Is that AN bulkhead fitting Aluminum?
 
yes there all AN Aluminum fitting never had a problem and have been on the car 18 years

I did also have to use a Hydraulic Throttle Pedal
becouse the my mount cover up the hole for the cable
 
I've installed several of these on Spridget race cars, don't know if I go that route on a street car, but one thing about it, once you do gone to the expense and work of installing it, master cylinder replacment cost is less and you have choices as for bore size.

Here's one I did on a SCCA Midget race car I built a few years back.

Dam Hap, I just drolled all over my keyboard. And the thing about that engine is that it most likely runs better than it looks.

No we thought about it, but it didn't have one, I had excellent luck without them, just had a SCCA LP 1275 race engine go 24 weekends without one and it had bearings in it that looked new, we use WC supercomp oil pans an they did a good job. What you're probably seeing is the fire system bottle. I also had a Oberg pre filter and remote oil filter mounted in the passenger foot box, thats what the access panel was for, we have the Oberg just before the spin on remote filter adapter, so we could see what was going on in the engine, I'm a big fan of Obergs on race engines.
