Tiger fuel pump question

Howdy all --

I'm just getting around to replacing the fuel pump on my Tiger -- it currently has one of those cheapie Mr. Gaskett pumps. I'm not a performance nut, and I generally prefer originality, so I'm thinking of putting in an SU from the usual Rootes spares suppliers. Aside from everything I already know about dealing with SU pumps and their, well, uniqueness, is there any other reason not to switch back to the SU?

I can't think of a reason not to......I have always had good service from SU fuel pumps. The only one that ever quit on me had been warning me for months before it finally gave up. I had been getting out of the car, hitting it with a large and heavy object, for a long time. My fault that I was too lazy to change it before it finally gave up.

This was on a daily driver Mini that I used to own back in the day. I've had many cars with SU pumps, never any problems.

Hi MadRiver, /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/iagree.gif no reason not to use the SU. However in to days world we have the electronic version which I highly recommed be used. --Fwiw---Keoke
