Any body used new improved thrust washers from Scott Helms? I’m planning to, would appreciate any feed back and comments.
 
I installed Scotts washers in my Tr6 motor, but I havent got it going yet. The washers are beefier and have more surface area. You will need to give Scott an exact total thickness of the washer you want, he does not fill orders by giving him oversize dimensions. I ordered a washer to allow for .004 clerance but ended up with around .0035, so his washers come a little on the tight side. They are stout and look like they will work well. They seem to slide into the groove a little tighter than a stock washer--almost like being spring loaded, so they might be hard to fit from the bottom with the crank installed. I only installed one of his washers on the thrust (flywheel side)and a stock on the other as it is the flywheel side that gets all the abuse.
 
Thanks for info. I’m planning to replace both TW’s, keeping front to OE spec of 0.091” on Scotts advise. Would you please let me know how thick your TW was?
 
I had two different brand stock washers to choose from which I used just for the front washer, they both measured .092.--- For the back I ordered a .097 from scott which gave me .0035 to .004 clerance.
 
Swapped out my thrust washers this past winter. I used one of Scotts oversized washers for the rear and stock for the front (its the rear washer that gets all the "thrust") and it seems to work really well. Scotts washers are beefier than stock, with greater surface area. You need to give Scott the thickness you need, and not just "0.05 oversize" as the stock washer thicknesses varied. Anyway he'll happily help you out.
