TR6 Those who own 2 TR6's

After 20 years of admiring TR6's, I finally bought one last summer. Now the TR6 disease has got to me and I want two. I'm curious to hear from owners on why they couldn't settle on just one and had to have two. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Not sure why one would want two of essentially the same car but certainly 2 (or more) TRs makes sense as the character of these cars differs greatly throughout the TR range.

My TRs are so similar mechanically yet differ in so many ways that they offer clearly different driving experiences.

I don't have two TR6's, but I've had two Triumphs for the last 6 years, and at times three (3 at the present time). I agree, having different models offers different experiences, and I would imagine having two of the same model offers the same as each LBC seems to have it's own personality and quirks. But for me, I enjoy the rebuilding part. So as I finished my cars, except for the constant tinkering, I needed a project. Seems I have an obsession for dirty hands and scraped knuckles. Another advantage of having two or more cars is that when one is down, you won't be without an LBC to drive.

I've often thought about another TR6 for autocross events. My street car is modified for better handling & power but as an auto X'r I would destroy my daily driver & all my hard work in a hurry. Besides the modifications I've done would put me in a class with V8's. As a dedicated racer I wouldn't have to worry about break downs , chewing up transmissions & differentials that would leave me stranded. Of course there is always the time & expense factor. Racing ain't cheap but it sure is fun.
How cool would a TR6 daily driver be as the tow car for my TR racer ! Some one pinch me, I must be dreaming. I hate reality.

The wife bought her TR6 new in '75 because she liked the '74 her brother had. I was not real pleased at the time as I was wrapped up in the late 60's Detroit iron displacement race. As in 'ain't no replacement for . . .'. We have had the '75 ever since. When we moved to Indiana her brother's was stored (abandoned) in the barn and rotting away. I got tried of watching that and bought it from him and hauled it home. I have every intention of bringing it back to life with some modifications when I get done with the '75. The '76 was bought as a parts car back in '90 when we lived in Anchorage. Thought about making the back half of it into a trailer????

I have two TR6's. One is for sale if you might be interested. I am selling one of the cars due to lack of garage space and I can only drive one at a time. The one that is for sale is beautiful with everything in working order, no rust, michelin redlines and all new interior.

I have only one TR6 but it has two personalities. It's like having two TR's but saves driveway space.

No triumphs(had many in the past) but 6 MG's....3 MGB's, 2 MGA's and a MGTC....their all completely different cars, the only exception would be the two 78` MGB's as their are almost exactly the same(except colour) the LE has lot of bolt-on performance parts so it feels different, One MGA is completely original, the other a concours restoration, the TC is undergoing a concours restoration.....The only thing preventing us from expanding the collection is garage space.
One LBC just isn't enough to satisfy the addiction

well, i don't have two tr6's but i have two tr7's. one a dhc, one a fhc. i got the fhc for winter driving.

I thought it was a package deal to get a parts car with any LBC you buy......Or is that just because I don't have any money and can only afford to buy total heaps that require a parts car to keep it running.
