those darn trunk lids!!!

OK, so 5 out of 8 MGs i see today have the left side of the trunk not sitting flush because someone tried to close the trunk without depressing in the hinge lever on the trunk. Does anyone have a sure proof method of getting that darn trunk lid flush again or is it a lost cause? I had my midget in a body shop and he welded some spots but could not get it flush unless you give it an extra push after closing it. FRUSTRATING!

thanks!

aww..rub it in!! lol

Zimmy, you are right about the new seals making it look even worse. I finally got tired of trying to make it look better and will just live with it.

Or wait and watch for someone to part out a Spridget & grap their good lid. I've done this, haven't installed it yet.

so its the lid thats bad or the hinges?? i was wondering if you can't just swap the hinges

Duh...put the catch on the other side for a while till it evens out.
