Just got news that the old Thompson Speedway Roadcourse may re-open.

The owners have the space and money and they own a golf course next door, which could share it's restaurant.
The track already has a popular roundy-round NASCAR circuit, but the roadcourse has been closed for years.

This is Great News for those of us on the east coast!

That's awesome. We had a new track open here in the PNW, https://www.ridgemotorsportspark.com/ I think it will do very well. I haven't been yet, but everyone is really excited about it. Well designed and well executed.

That would be awesome. It's hard to believe after all the years they let the original track be consumed by forest, but I would love to see it. 7 miles from my childhood home too.

I made many trips to Thompson when I was going to Northeastern U. in Boston. Often, my father would drive up from Long Island and meet me there. He had a Saab 96 and later a Sonnet that he used to race at Lime Rock and Bridgehampton, but never at Thompson.

the new layout looks great, used to race there between 74 and 77 (when the course closed) took my first drivers school there, looking forward to its reopening, even if its just track days.. and its less than 100 miles woo hoo!
