So, I've been thinking of ways I can desulphate batteries when I had an idea. "I can use muratic acid to dissolve the sulfur crystals!"
I haven't had time to try it yet and really didn't want to waste money on a test that probably wouldn't work.
Last night I was thinking about the project when it hit me, "Muratic acid is hydrocloric acid. Put that in a battery with sulfur crystals, disolve crystals, put off a gas......possibly hydrogen sulfide...then die. :eeek:
I can see it now, I'm dead laying in the yard, Kelly comes over to check on me and falls out, then here comes the dog....
I then realized it would be two weeks before anyone started looking for us. :frown:
I think I'll just stick to things you can beat with a hammer. :hammer:
I've always hated chemistry, now I know why.

most thing here are however rather expensive mostly because of high taxes. The battery I put in my Toyota (55 amp hour, nothing big or unusual cost ~$90 for a "cheapy", My thought was that the desulfator was cheap enough that if it in fact works, it will save money, particularly for the huge battery in my diesel minivan. If it doesn't work then I am not out enough to be worried. I will try it and let you all know what happens.
