Took the TR6 out yesterday with the Granddaughter.
I noticed that the fuel guage was reading low.
I knew that I was pushing it @ 130 miles,as the last
tune-up was around 10 years ago.
I drove the car until it finally stopped, about 1 block
from another British Car owner.I walked to Richard's house -
he was home,& offered me a "gas can" (plastic),+ a ride to the
nearest gas station.
I've never ridden in a TR3,let alone driven one,but was
I one to complain?
Got the gas, drove the car home,& it all worked out.How
cool is that?

This AM I was driving the Alfa back from some weapons practice, one cylinder went away. Managed to limp home on three (checked for oil pressure, temp gauge, fluid trail, etc. first!). Plug fouled. Old ones out, new set in.

Looks like 12 years is about all I'm gonna get outta this engine. My abusive attitude catching up. Starting to burn some oil. :eeek:

I met one of my good friends that way (sorta) Back when I had my BGT, I used to see a guy cruising through the new to me neighborhood in a B roadster w/a hard top. One AM on my way to work, my throttle cable snapped. I coast to a stop, get out to see what I could McGuyver, and I looked up the adjacent drive. Lo and behold, the MGB. I went up and knocked on the door, to see if he had a spare cable. He didn't, but did have an XK 120 and plenty of other stuff in the garage, and it turned out we were both pretty much on the same wavelength. 25 plus years later, we still are. LBCs , bringing folks together for years...( As I wrote the last line, I was thinking about how this very forum does the exact same thing. Nice.

Maybe it's time to get one of the Loti back on the road, Doc. Still, 12 years ain't bad.

Wish I lived somewhere I could drive something interesting as a commuter. Stupid road salt, and snow, and cold, and cold, and snow...

Especially at <span style="font-style: italic"><span style="font-weight: bold">MY</span></span> hand (and right foot).

That is precisely why the +2 Elan is off the road now: prior salt damage to front uprights. And the reason we ran away to Florida.
