Oh I am not affiliated with this. I just saw it online and thought I would pass it along.

People please don't call it Cali. We're not "all" surfers or rappers out here. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

I get a similar reaction when someone spells it with a "K". since we're not "all" kooks out here either. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

The best ways to abbreviate California are:

So Cal
No Cal
CA

I don't mind Cali at all, but it does put that dumb song in my head.

Man, I wouldn’t want to haul a trailer from Cali to Sacramento and back to Cali. That’s almost 2000 miles each way. And a lot of the roads are pretty nasty.

PC.

Wasn't intentional.

I tried typing California, but you aren't allowed enough characters in the title line and I was afraid that CA would confuse the Canadians.

I guess that’d be me you’re referring to John. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

But that’s ok, because I use the “K” not because of all the kooks we have (and boy do we hav'em out here in spades). I use it for it's Communist and or Soviet/Russian cold war connotations when discussing some touchy subject.

Example: Anything to do with our state's nannyish big brother (some would say KGB) approach to vehicle emissions testing. I often refer to it as the "People's Republic of Kalifioria".

However when discussing something I deem positive about our state (like it’s rich history & natural resources) I don’t have a problem spelling it correctly.

I just get tired of the "Cali" thing. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wall.gif California is not all about self absorbed Hollywood types, surfers or hip-hop rappers. Not counting out of towners - those are pretty much the only people I hear using that term out here. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Most people in Las Vegas seem to use Cali for some reason. But the ones who hate Californians are the ones who actually say the name properly.

Funny thing, that. Ex-Californians make up most of their population, and Californian tourists give their city most of its income. If we actually went home and didn't come back like many Vegas residents want, their city would shrivel up and die. I guess it's going to happen anyway when they run out of water next year.

.... vehicle emissions testing ...

It was just a friendly nudge .. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/hammer.gif

You just need to get slightly older cars so you don't need to mess with emissions testing. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Funny, I never hear the term "Cali" .. I must be really out of it!

This topic reminds me of the outrage when someone from San Francisco hears their town referred to as "Frisco" ... Duck quick!

I always called it SanFran... <shrugs>

Doc,

Just don't call it "Frisco".I found out that
some of the people from SF are touchy about that -
-their problem.
Back on the craigslist posting - This could be
some kind of scam, maybe a landlord trying to clear out
a tenants garage - while he's out of town?
