THIS is NICE

My absolute, all-time favourite car.

I was at Lime Rock one time and there was eight of them there! Plus a few similar T37s.
The sound of that little, supercharged straight eight is like nothing else.

The Pur Sang company (in Argentina) *makes* that engine. Their replicas are really more like the real deal than a "replica".

These days the value of a real T35b is seven figures (in USD), so the bid price is actually realistic.

Wow! that's a very well done, but very expensive replica.

Nial, I am with you. Knowing that anything bearing the name Bugatti is BIG money, the price of this recreation seemed not that far out there.....

I think I would call that a "re-creation" rather than a "replica"! That seems to be much more faithfully done than most "replicas" one sees!!! Very Nice!!!

That is an interesting topic - at least to me - recreation vs. replica vs. restoration, etc.

I agree with Mike, that this is a recreation. Those VW based MG's, etc. are replicas.

I'd have one of these "replica" ones:

I consider a recreation something made from original parts to resemble a different model than what it was. For example my MGC GTS built from a standard MGC GT.

I consider a replica something made new to resemble as closely as possible something old.

Those VW-based MG things are simply abominations. They are an embarrassment to the M.G. breed, especially because they are usually branded as a real M.G.

No disagreement here, Steve! Was the only example I could think of at the moment...

Methinks someone over inflated that Jag! LOL That'd be nice in my garage too!

That would be one of those abominations that Steve was talking about. To both the MG and the Triumph chassis and running gear it is built on.

Anyone notice the Lancia Delta Integrales behind that 'thing'.

The sad thing is, that's better than a lot of them I've seen. It looks like a plastic 4x4 with a sub floor dashboard.

Did anyone see all that rust on the motor? Looks like it's been underwater.

Definately a few interesting cars behind it on the lot.

Yes on both counts (interesting cars and the rust)!! Did anyone notice the camber on the rear wheels?...Very odd! Must have a Spitfire rear suspension cobbled in!!! That poor Magnette grill could have been better used on the right car, it looks so odd on that thing!

Back on Bugatties. here's from WGI last fall
