{anorak}Interestingly, the illustrations are much earlier than April 1960. Note the red/black badge and "thinner" headlamp rims on the front, amongst other details. That was common in later brochures. :smirk: {/anorak}
 
Very nice car. My "if i could pick any triumph" car would be a black TR2 with red interior, love that color combination =) When I finish restoring my TR6, I'll probably be on the lookout for a TR2 project !
 
Good catch, Andy, I hadn't noticed that. Oddly enough, all the other photos seem to show wide rims and the blue/white badge.

To Frank Angelini: Hello, Are the differentials in the engine and body #'s about the same on your car as on Anthony S's car?

And I suppose that this "competition" picture could go either way: blue/white badge, but still the plates on the side of the scuttle for the Dzus fasteners that hold the windscreen frame (no plates on the post-TS60000 cars).

And you gotta love "artistic license": either that creamy white TR is being driven by a jockey, or it's about 17 ft. long! :thumbsup:

Not too easy to read, but the commission number is TS58476 and the engine number is TS58681E so a difference of 205, which is typical.
 
Off topic, but I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed reading this thread.

This forum really provides an opportunity for enthusiasts to get together, learn from each other, reminisce and enjoy each others' cars and company.

I love this style of illustration- I remember pictures of men in trilby hats standing next to a Hillman Minx or Riley 4/68 with the roofline of the car at eye level. Or a smiling family of five people comfortably sitting in an Anglia, bench seats about 7 feet wide in a Vauxhall Victor- much better than photographs!
