I'm with you Doc! I hope that people here never forget just how vulnerable we are from outside forces. Our Southern border has me concerned with all that's happening. PJ

Yeah.....I could see those two building on the way home from work. And they were my "eastern compass" when flying. I was in them at least a dozen times.

I miss them and more importantly, the 3000+ people in them.
Including:

-Our old next door neighbor (he had just moved).
-A secretary from work.
-My cousin's best friend (another cop, who went in the building)

My current neighbor across the street is retired FDNY from Staten Island. He went to over 40 funerals.

I used to be in those buildings regularly seeing customers.
A day we should not forget!

I'm right there with ya doc.

I couldn't believe the news when I heard it second hand from friends that morning.

In happier news, the new sky line from the new buildings resembles something.... just can't put my "finger" on it....

I like that WTC One stands at 1776ft tall to the top of the spire. Though, I recently read that they added an antenna to the top to bring the total height to 1792 (according to Wikipedia).

There are those who will by dint of character ~run into~ the fire... Those are the true heroes.

For all who have lost family, friends and acquaintances, a heartfelt virtual hug.

...and another heartfelt wish is that there will never be another incident to equal that one. But we must all be diligent and aware. Especially now. It may require a "Let's roll!" decision from any one of us.

Just keep that in mind.

Well said.... Thanks Doc
