With engine out of car and timeing just fine upon removal.

I could turn engine till #1 was at top and timeing mark on TDC.

Then I could install and make a new timeing mark on top so I could see the darn thing when setting it or with a tilt forward bonnet.

Correct??

Yessir!! A small piece of thin, flat sheetmetal and ya can fab up a pointer to attach via the timing cover bolts, Mark pulley accordingly.

That is a great Idea.

I do have Jeffs kit but of course it is for a 1275, however, I will make it work.
