Here's mine: We're heading up to Manassas,VA to pick up a truck.
We'll be passing by "Walton's Mountain",where Earl Hamner grew up.
They have a Bed & Breakfast (John & Olivia's B&B) there.
Just for fun,I looked it up to see what the rooms ran.There was
a notice on it that said "PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN
UNDER AGE 10".


Wasn't the Waltons based around a house full of kids?
 
They have a company here that does floor coatings for garages and basements, recently they've been advertising a coating made from small rocks called "Mini Pearl stone coating" Told a friend I would never consider it because it didn't come with a ladies hat...

sooo true! When I tell some 'younger' folk we've adopted the three cats and named them Lucy, Fred and Ethel, we get blank stares. The "seasoned" ones break out in laughter.
 
Hope Fred and Ethel get along better than the real ones were said to. Vivian Vance supposedly extremely disliked Frawley feeling that the fact he was 20 some years older was an insult to make people think she was older than she was.
 
Sounds about right. Ethel alternately hisses at Fred or ignores him.
 
What is a MATCH MADE IN HEVEN Was she a dead ringer. Did he turn a blind eye. How long can you stretch the truth. Madflyer
 
While going for a drive today,there was a street sign -
"FOUR WHEEL DRIVE".

Another one here in Virginia - "TRAILER PARK ROAD"
 
There's a '91 Camaro ex-Boones Mill,Va (not far from here) police car
for sale.Boones Mill is a well-known speed trap.
I looked it up,& found a used car dealer called "Speedtrap Motors".http://www.speedtrapmotors.com

A fella once pulled into our shop asking directions, he was in a pick-up, a painted door sign read: "K-9 DOG RESCUE".

My smart-arse remark to him was: "I didn't think K-9s needed rescuing".

Got a blank stare as a response.
 
When we were getting ready for our trip to Hawaii in 1989,
my Wife,while looking at the plane tickets said - "Did you realize that-
it's a non-stop flight?".I replied (dryly) "I sure hope so" - "maybe they'll
stop for refueling in Catalina".
 
One of my favourites. A local trucking firm is called Fluke transport.

their motto? If it arrives on time it's a Fluke.
