Things that make me go HMMMMMMM!

Ever since I got my first 8 I have been unable to to get my tach to work regularly. Sometimes it just bounced around, usually it worked only from 800 to 2000 then would drop to 0. I got a new tach from Woody years ago and still nothing different. Today I walked out and started my 8 and started to the store and I noticed something weird.... my tach was working, and it was working CORRECTLY. How does that happen? Did the Triumph fairy come last night and fix it? Did the person who snuck into my garage and took my repair manual (Surely I did not just miss place it) feel guilty and figured it was a easy way to repay me?

Maybe it It was the Lucas demon was finally exerocised?

Well for tonight I will just go to be and say HMMMM

DAVE- I let the TRIUMPH FAIRY OUT FOR THE NIGHT LAST NIGHT AND SHE DIDN'T GET IN UNTIL THE WEE HOURS. BOY, SHE LOOKED BROKE TOO. MUST HAVE BEEN SOME NITE. YOU OWE ME 1.

Dang, I hate cap locks, Sorry

Universal alignment, planetary harmony, congregation of the stars.....it'll work until the next full moon!!

Heck, I dunno but that's as good an explantion as any!!

(humm the "Twilight Zone" theme song here) Jumped in to my 8 and on the way to work realized my fuel guage is working correctly now to. It used to read just to 3/4 full no matter how much it was filled over that and would work from there until empty. Today it was reading correctly. I owe some one for all the electrical work they did for me.

I guess I could understand it more if I had done anything to the Lucas system or if the car had sat for awhile but literally nothing was done to it.

So you have an electrical connector, or ground that is susceptible to environment changes.

Hmmmmm, more than one issue with gauges; does it have a voltage regulator for the gauges? hmmmm?

Well that goodness, things are back to usual, my tach is no longer working but the gas gauge still is.
