This is the first fall I have had the midget, and although she starts up fine in the AM, I am running with a "cool Thermostat, the temp never climbs past the 1/4 point (half way from dead cold to the midpoint on the guage) I need to warm the engine and heater for the next few weeks till storage time. What generic thermostat does the midget take ( ie for what North american car, make model and engine plz)

Woodie:

I have tried the generic one and it was to tall for the housing, so I purchased one from Moss.

my guage is not numeric left side of smile is C, bottom of smile is a thicker line, and right side of smile is H, part of dual temp/oil pressure guage

Some guage, see pic here, 5th one down https://www.cardomain.com/ride/2354952

Actually what you guys have seems to be good engines and radiators.

The generic is the one for 1960's and 70's Chevy's. The ones for both 6 and 8's should be the same and have always fit all of my Spridgets. I use a 192 for mine and it works fine.

just order from VB or moss...only a few bucks....think there is a 180 degree one that should get the heater temp up a little........z

dont forget the gasket.....

Woodie go into Canadian tire and get a 14-4034-4 which is a 180 degree thermostat. It is the same one that is used on a myriad of us cars and trucks, astro vans etc etc $7 and change
