Then and now...

Oh yeah! Very good pointers indeed. I'm sorry about forgetting the hand crank to TDC. Sometimes I assume too much.

On the other hand, plugging the galley holes is a great idea.

The tricky part as I see it will be to find the proper tool to remove the valve springs that will have the necessary angle and holes to allow proper leverage and alignment.

Maybe Snap-On, Mac or Craftsman tools?

Mark that as a first for me! I've finally found something in a Snap On catalog that doesn't require a second mortgage to buy. They do make great tools and they are worth every penny. I have screwdrivers and wrenches from the 60's that I still use and wouldn't give up because they were made to fit a mechanics hand before everyone used air wrenches for everything.

For those wondering about the color. It is called Aqua Marine Frost. A silvery light green with a very fine metal flake in it.
