The Worst Part About Getting Older

Just got word today that a friend of mine, only 58 years old, passed away. He died of complications from pneumonia. I worked with him for 28 years, nice guy left behind a wife and young son. It seems to me that this is the worst part of getting older watching friends and loved ones pass away. Sorry to ramble on I guess I'm just a bit upset.

Regards John

John...sorry to hear...but in this case I can fully appreciate...we are the older generation my friend...our prior generation is growing to few...my brothers and sisters are it in my family..folks, aunts, uncles on up all departed...lost one close associate last week and another unfortunately has cancer and not expected to make another 3 months...enjoy them while we are all here...and we'll all party in the afterwards...

Used to be I would lose my friends' parents or grandparents....now I'm starting to lose my friends...and sometimes even their children!

My uncles are in their late 70's to mid 90's...I've already lost my parents....time is precious.

My condolences....I know how you are feeling.

Yeah, it stinks. Lost a friend and neighbor last week, 44 years old, wife and kids. Drove trucks for a living, crashed and died far from home. No sense to it, he's just not comin' back. My sympathies, John.

It was watching friends from High School listed in the obituaries that made me decide it was time to attend another HS Reunion. But the gentleman who had run them for our class had passed about 5-7 years ago, and the other class officers had all moved and had no interest in taking up the torch. So I have spent the last few weeks tracking down over 700 members of the class. When I got the lists from the previous committee I was shocked that so many people I liked or respected were gone already, and I am sure that the list only is about 1/2 complete. I now understand how my 89 year old mother feels about all her friends being gone...it is tough.
