MGB-GT The wife lost a bet... or WTB GT Rolling Resto

So, I get to look for a "rolling restoration" or a "product development car".

The deal was I could spend $800, but I can always find a couple hundred in my pockets.

I'd like to find something that runs, doesn't have to be pretty, but could become a driver with new tires, brakes and a tune up. I'd like a GT, especially a RB (like Tony had that I missed).

Don't mind some sill or floor rot. Just looking for something to drive until I can finish my current project.

I'm in Pittsburgh, so west coast or southern cars aren't really an option. She's including the transportation costs in the "$800". She's tough.

Thanks!

ROAD TRIP!!!

You finally stripped the 74.5 GT Tony? Arrrgh! When did that happen?

Started stripping it over the summer - nothing off it that can't be put back as I've not taken any '74-1/2 GT specific stuff.

Aaaaahhhhh Thank You!

But next summer she comes completely apart & the shell goes to crusher!

Is it rusting through?

Only real rust is in passenger floor where kids in the PO's neighborhood shot the door glass & windshield....easy fix....hey, it was on my site for years at $750 - I lowered it to $500 & it was too ugly/too much work for anybody...so......

Zack - the driver fender was the one damaged in the accident - do you need a passenger one?

Doesn't run - hasn't run since it was in fender bender in '84.

Took 'em down years ago, Tim

"There is significant rust to the inner rocker panels." is enought to scare me away from that one.

Tim, I will look around in Harrisburg area for you, if this is not too far for you to go. I think I know of a RB GT that might be for sale, but it hasn't been driven in years.

And I'll keep my eyes open from Harrisburg to Phillipsburg, NJ (Lehigh Valley area). $800 should get you a GT with a $1250 asking price

Have you checked Craigslist?

That CT GT does not seem bad even for the buy it now price.
