After spending six years to do a complete frame off, I had last spring and summer to enjoy the fruits of my labor.
Today, I started the disassembly of the interior of my TR6... Seats, radio, center console, carpet etc.
What am I doing?
I am going to be converting over to a 5-speed. Yes, I can hear you guys now saying "you should have done it when you did the rebuild". OK, I admit it... you are right!
I picked up an '85 Supra transmission back in June and now is the time to get it in. By the end of next week the old Triumph 4-speed will be out and I can begin installing the 5-speed.
Does it ever end?

To be brutally honest......no, it only does so when you end.

LOL Paul. Guess you are right!

Can you take a pictures and document the coversion here Elliot? Exciting project!

Sure I can document it with photo's no problem. Bobby D. has already done a wonderful job of documenting that process. For those who want to see it now click here to go to Bobby D's site.
From time to time, I will post some progression photos

The big problem is hanging out HERE!

You find out about all kinds of cool things you could do to the car that you never knew existed -- even though you've already put the car back together.

I have plans to take apart and modify a perfectly functional tight and noiseless front suspension to make "improvements" I learned about here, not very long after I'd completed my rebuild.

Yeah, info here is like an opiate. Jus' gotta DO that, no matter th' redundant effort involved.

P.S., Len... how'd ya like me loud shirt?

The upside, of course, is, having recently overhauled the parts in question, I'll be real slick, quick and purposeful when I do it all again. And, if I didn't get some enjoyment out of wrenching on this car, I'd have never tackled the project in the first place. So, in a perverse way, I kinda WANT to take it apart and put it back together again. Dang, that's weird...

And -- nice shirt, Doc. Hat's kinda weird, but the shirt sets it off nicely...
