So a few days ago, the train pipe the washer drains into was starting to overflow and make a mess. I rented a hand-operated snake and tried for an hour to clear the line, but to no avail. Reluctantly I called TLC and the guy came out with a "power" snake and was able to clear the line and there is no more overflow from that drain pipe. With tax it was $130! Ouch!
However, right after he left, I did another load of wash and, while that drain pipe wasn't overflowing, I was getting water backing up into the utility sink. Called TLC again to have someone come out again and see what else was going on. Two guys came out and went up on the roof and ran a power snake down the vent pipe. Did a load of wash and viola - not problems!
I was expecting to pay another $130 but, to my surprise, they saud because it was still related to the washer not draining properly it was covered under warranty and I didn't have to pay anything this time! I gave them both $20 for lunch!
