The return of the Michelotti TR Website

I'm glad to announce that after being sidelined due to the economic turndown and Yahoo eliminating the Geocities webhosting services, I have been able to bring back the Michelotti TR Website:

https://sites.google.com/site/michelottitr/

I am still in the process of restoring/recreating the pages I had on the old site (a process made harder with the loss of my backups and the removal of the geocities pages from the wayback machine) As before, I welcome and encourage contributions, suggestions and comments.

Y'all come on by and set a spell

Thanks for the visit, I will be back to see the rest as it is added. Love these cars. Keep up the good work! Thank you again for your efforts.

Good stuff! Can't wait to revisit the site as it is updated.

Keep up the good work!

Glad to see your web site is back. I'll change the link on my site.

Thank you everybody, for the warm response! I am in the process of getting the pages back up(and hope to be adding new content as well), and will have a contact link on the site soon - until then you can email me ditectly at iron_horse819 AT yahoo.com

Actually, it seems that your prior site still exists:

https://www.reocities.com/michelotti_tr/

Looks like something called 'reocities' has salvaged some of the old geocities sites. May save you some work.

What a great find Geo, thanks very much! It does look like they did what Wayback was supposed to. It will save me a lot of work!

Was this page one of yours?

https://www.reocities.com/michelotti_tr/japearce.html

I see you have an link on your new site (under construction) to "J.A.Pearce Ltd. Magna Wheels". I came across that old page when researching the history of the JAP wheels on my TR4:

JAPWheels.jpg

So, how do you like the JAP wheels? After losing one towing the car home, I was sort of biased against them, but I realize that I really can't blame the wheel - it stayed on the car without a knockoff for more than 1,000 miles!

I like the JAP wheels fine (lest anyone think this is some sort of ethnic slur -- the initials 'JAP' are cast into the wheel).

Mine bolt on using the stock studs -- the knock-off adaptors were apparently an optional fitment to the same basic wheel.

Just out of curiousity -- were you towing the car backwards (something you never want to do with knock-offs)?

LOL - of course not, but I understrand why that would be the first question asked. When I bought the car, the owner was totally clueless about british sportscars and knockoff wheels (He was into Studebakers). I had noticed the spinner missing, but thought that they were only decorative since it had lug nuts. Still wouldn't have been an issue if U-Haul had honored my reservation for a car hauler instead of renting it out from under me and forcing me to use a car dolly instead. Guess I shouldn't complain too much though, I took out their Safe-Tow insurancem and after losing the wheel they would up paying me more in damages than I had paid for the car originally - so I guess you could say that U-Hsul paid me to tke the car!
