A little while ago my wife and I were n bound, just south of Acton, Indiana (about half way between Acton and Red's Corner) when we were met by a black Austin Healy. A friendly wave brought back memories of the 50's & 60,s when it was quite common to meet other LBC's and share a friendly wave. Do any of the rest of you remember those days?
 
Phil - I sure remember the 50s and 60s, but couldn't afford an LBC back then!

Fortunately I do share friendly waves with XK140s, MGBs, and other TRs here in eastern Connecticut. I must live in a low rent neighborhood - I've never seen an AH here yet!

We just did a pre run for the Triumpfest in Marin co. Going up Hwy 1 up to Point Reyes sea shore, there were many LBC's out and all were waving. Even the pedisterains wave as we drove past. If you are thinking about Triumpfest you gotta go!!! It will be fun.

I also failed to mention that the bank and I were in partnership on my '62 TR3B.
 
Certainly do remember. Correct etiquette in these parts was to wait for the wave then return same when approached by the "superior marques" (Jaguar and big Healey's). Flashing headlamps was perfectly acceptable also.
 
Remember those days as well ... round here still very common for LBC drivers to give a friendly wave irrespective of marque. Cheers, Mike
 
Around here anyone driving a 50 year old car gets a thumbs up or a least the country wave. Correct etiquette.
 
Here in the "Up-State" of SC there are alot of "Car Crazy" folks. Most of which are Hot Rodders & or "BIG" Nascar fans.

Whichever marque you may have; There is always a hand wave, thumbs up etc.

We owned a DKW and always waved at approaching Deeks. There were so few we usually recognized the car and even the driver. These days we wave at other Brit and vintage cars. Lots of waves and thumbs up when driving Minis or the FX4D- London taxi. I remember Playboy did a satire of the hierarchy of waves.
