On the steering box the manual says to tighten the olive then back off one turn? Seems awfully loose to me. If they meant one flat why did they not say that? To me one turn usually means a full revolution,no?:tennis:....and what would be the reason for backing the nut off at all?
 
The olive is left loose (one turn sounds fine to me) while you install the control head and get it positioned just right. Then tighten up the olive. That's what they meant when they said (in the same sentence) "... this is retightened in a later operation."

I wondered about that. It was very difficult to tell if there was a larger and smaller side to the olive? Maybe a Repro that was n't made right? Leaks? Also.... Is the control head supposed to turn with wheel?

The head should not turn with the steering wheel.
