MGB SEATBELT HOLDER!

What you guys recon, worth going into business on EBAY? :p

Hi, Em -

Good idea for those that don't have one. But you probably should grind off the sharp edges. I'd hate to "rub shoulders" with it!

I've broken one of mine...but my '77 had seat-belt holders right next to the seat below where your "holder" is. The metal tab plugs into these "holders" so you can see the belt and just reach back and grab it. Works out pretty well. My Miata has something similar.

Actually, the later CB MGBs had little plastic holder mounted on the sidewall behind the door opening...unfortunatly, the screws used to fasten the holders were just a little oversized and most of the holders have broken off at the screw holes in the little tab ears. I have seen them available on Ebay for about $20 each, but think I will search for the belt instead...and yes, I am a fat guy and usually don't have too much trouble locating it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Those plastic holders were in my '72 also. I didn't put them back in when I installed the new panel kit. Mine were cracked and ready to break.

I have the plastic things but no idea of where to put them so the bloody belt stays in it. Could you measure down from the top edge and in from the door opening for me so I locate them properly? Does the top when down still interfere with getting the darn belts out? I replace the belts with new retractables from B Hive but they are still a pain in the neck to get out once you close the doors.

I have the plastic holders in my '76 B. Not sure if that was standard for the year as they were already in the car when I got it. As for their placement, they seem to be placed at about hip level while sitting in the car so that it's like grabbing the seatbelt/lapbelt in any other car.

Those things are SEATBELT HOLDERS?!?!? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I've got my seatbelts running through them! And it was a B**ch of a job trying to shove those things through /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I feel so...
