The Miata rides again

Some of you may remember that two years ago I shattered my left ankle and heel, had to have surgeries, had to relearn to walk, basically had a bad run.

Well, it was even worse than just a foot. Two weeks before I broke my foot I put my Miata up to change the clutch because the pilot bearing was chattering. Well, it had an aftermarket clutch and flywheel and the stock clutch I bought wouldn't fit on the aftermarket flywheel, so I had to order a standard flywheel for it. About ten days later I break my foot and about fourteen days later my new flywheel comes in.

Needless to say the Miata was put on the back burner. Well, I still don't get around good on my back/ hands and knees, so working under a car if very difficult and takes way too much time for even simple things like oil changes. Luckily for me both my middle son and youngest son have moved back this summer and with their help I got my Miata back on the road today.

It felt incredible to be behind the wheel of it again after so long.
Here's the Jeep and the Meep together.

Congrats!

good news and doubly so because I honestly thought this post was ending with an automatic Miata - congrats!

Motorcycles are still out, at least for now, but I was able to start working a clutch again about six months after the accident.

Total empathy, Walt. The MG needs new oil &filter, after a head gasket R&R. Even though that job was accomplished, the back/hands 'n knees thing is yet to be. Did a rear rotor replacement on a pal's Altima last month, a "trial run" as it were... took a week before I could say there was no residual discomfort. That only involved kneeling for the most part. Seems after age 25~30 the healing from any trauma gets extended exponentially! ARGH!

Any work I can do on my feet isn't bad. It's getting up and down, or anything that requires flexibility or strength in my foot.

So laying under a car is fine once I get there. Getting up is a tedious process that annoys me.

Don't ask me about my aches & pain, unless you have some spare time (& no life).

Used to be able to go from on my back to upright in an eyeblink. Sit up, cross my legs and stand... now I'm a flounder on a floor.

Medico's told me it'd take as much as a year to recover. They lied. Time's up on the 17th of next month, much improved but still not "normal."

Time's a mother! :ROFLMAO:

For some reason it takes me a lot longer to get up
from the floor than it used to.
Hey,I just graduated high school 10 years ago.

I used to say I'm too young to feel this old. Now I look at my license and go darn.....! :D
