MGB The MGB Cut-away, Heritage Motor Centre Museum

Ever since I first saw the photos of the MGB cutaway GT in one of the MG books (Original MG?), I have thought what a great thing it would be if there were a series of photos of both sides of the car. I thought of how great it would be for all MGB owners - those restoring, those repairing, and those just interested in how their cars were constructed.

Paul Hunt and I have known each other since the late 1990s when we met on another MG Enthusiasts forum. One day not long ago, I was rummaging through the collected photos of the Cutaway MGB GT I had collected over the years when it struck me that Paul and I could collaborate once again, I with this idea, and he with his love of the MGBs, his great technical knowledge of them, great website, and luckily for me, proximity to the museum in Gaydon.

The result of that collaboration can be viewed at this site: https://www.cibolas7.net/resources/cutaway.htm . You can look at the car as a series of thumbnails, full sized photos, and can download whichever size is what you need. We both hope that all MGB owners will find this site both interesting and a useful resource in the years to come.

Best Wishes and enjoy! Bob Muenchausen and Paul Hunt

{BTW Basil, you might want to post the URL where it will be most readily found on your site}

That is one great set of photos! I've heard of this car but never saw it. The photo series is a magnificent collection. Thanks for posting! PJ

Oh, GREAT! ANOTHER website where I can waste time!

What a fantastic resource!

Thanks, Bob.

Done! Check the links in the header to THIS MG forum.

BTW Bob, good to see you hear again - hope you'll stick around and post once in awhile.

Excellent! Thanks for the link. Don't know how I missed this when I was there.
Harry

Harry, it may not have been on display. I was just informed this AM that there were two of these done a MK I GT and a Mark II. As Paul mentions, this particular one has gotten moved around to accommodate different displays and themes.

Basil, I promise to come around more often. I thank you profusely for taking my old website and archiving it and making it available to others. By doing so, you freed up my webhosting contract to where Paul and I could use it for this project, so think of yourself as an enabler for more things, like this!!

Ohh Jeeze Louweezzzee!
As If I didn't have time left
over from my day to waste looking
through another interesting website
and learn something constructive.

Thanks Bob,
now I can add this to another sleepless night.

Love the pics

It was my pleasure. Your site is a wealth of great information and it would have been a shame to see it go away. (for those wondering what we;re talking about, check out the link to "Muenchausen's Garage " in the Links in the header of the MG forum.)

BTW, I was misinformed about the nature of this display car. There really is only one, however, when BMC introduced the MKII bodyshell, they remade the car with MKII components as well. So there have been two, just not at the same time!

Hey, thank you again, Basil, for posting the Cutaway site with the others at the header!!! Paul and I both appreciate it!
