The Lindner-Knocker Lightweight: is it an authentic restoration?

This goes along with the other posting on lightweights but I wanted to start a separate thread. I was going to write this car up in an article about barn finds but was initially put off by the restorer's assertion that the original body panels were "ironed out" and re-used. I thought "why not use new sheets of aluminum?" But since forming that original opinion, I came across a very complete article on the car's step by step restoration, maybe in Supercar Classics that shows the wrinkled panels and I believe it is possible (though un-necessary). I'd like to hear opinions on this, also does anyone have a vague price that was paid for the car when found in storage, and how it was found (through an advert? Good detective work? etc.).
Thanks for any opinions,
