Is the Kiron a "push-pull" zoom & focus "all-in-one"? I ask because I have a Vivitar Series-1 VMC that was probably built by Kiron. Sharp glass for its time.
A Ken Rockwell article about the lens.

Dug a bit deeper, did find this one to be one of the "Version 1" models, with the 67mm filter size and made by Kiron (Kino Precision). As best I can recall, it was early 1978 when I got it, at a Pittsburgh camera store: Kadet Photo on 5th Avenue, "Dantahn". Got the 90mm Macro at the same time.

It was quite the experience...two times! Once in Newark and another time in an underground parking garage where I worked in a bucolic town! The thing that really annoyed(!) me was the note book I had with assorted MLB player autographs and worst of all a note from Christy Brinkley at the 1982 Canadian GP. The note book probably ended up in a vacant lot off MLK blvd in Newark...Ah, the Kiron. I had one of those in the late 70's. Until some nefarious young man decided to relieve me of it and all my camera gear in Newark, NJ !!!! It was a great lens for my OM-1's...
