Yes Gordon, so nice to see ya! The 2013 Gathering is history. This was the very first significant road trip for the Grey Lady, at approx. 1100 miles RT. Some annoying problems but altogether uneventful. Rained hard, on an off, on the way down Thursday and Friday to Mt Airy, NC. Rained very hard, with lightning, thunder and an actual Tornado warnings Friday afternoon. But Sunday it was brilliant blue skies from horizon to horizon.

If you missed this one, there's always next April, plus this site will be the venue for VTR 2014!!!

Photos to come.

Guess the camera isn't capable:angel2: of counting past 6

Let see you attach the names....

Here are the folks that were there...off the top of my head:

Jim Tencate
Wayne Simpson
Steve Sanders (took second place in class with his Bordeaux TR8)
Gary Klein
Allan
John Clifford
Doug Young
Bill Detksen
Jim Altman
Jim Lambert
Amy & I (took first place in class with my Persian aqua TR8)

I am sure I missed some.....

Sorry you couldn't make it. :(

Frank.......Can't tell you how surprised and excited I was to see you at the entrance of Shelton Vineyards. I kept looking for you at the Banquet, but must have missed you. Your car is gorgeous, your company was at least as good, and I certainly hope you will attend next year as well. Pretty nice venue, wouldn't you say? Our Club is excited to be hosting VTR in 2014.....it will be one not to be missed! There were 17 TR3's showing if I counted correctly, the most we have ever had, and you definately deserved First Place, Congratulations.

Gordon

Sorry to hear you had some "mechanicals" on your trip, but glad you got home safely. I also had a minor "shunt'. The back muffler hanger bracket gave way and it only took a few bumps on the road for me to pull over and do a temporary fix with baling wire and chewing gum. Couple of people have already said she is quite a photographer.......she got the best side of me.

Yes, another vote for The Gathering! One of the nicest settings for a car show we've seen. And the participants have really good taste based on how we BCF'rs did. I got a class win, too. Was a little surprised how many people looked at the car and said it was the first time they had seen one in person.

Frank-I suspect we used some of the same roads, if you attend next year perhaps we can see each other on the road. We went directly to the Blue Ridge Pkwy. and all of the Skyline Dr. coming home. Cool weather and clear skies made for great scenery. It didn't hurt that there was no traffic, either.
