Here are the final four I've ended up with for the upcoming State Fair photo contest. These are all pretty set except for the Aspens reflecting in the pond - that one "may" get switched out. One thing that sucks is, any photos I enter this year can't be entered in any future contests, regardless of outcome.

American Kestrel Over Bosque (This version I've cropped from the previous version I posted as I felt it worked better in Portrait orientation).

Monjeau Blue. This area near Monjeau Peak, NM had a fire 10 years prior. When I was there, the area was filled with smoke drifting in from a fire in another part of the state.

Aspens Reflecting in a Pond. This was somewhere on CO 550 (The Million Dollar Highway). If I end up replacing any, it will be this one. I like it, but there are others I like at least as much.

Not a "klinker" in the lot, sir! The kestrel is a shoe-in, IMHO. πŸ‘

Thanks. I was honestly quite surprised by how sharp the Kestrel came out given it was shot from at least 50 yards away with a 600mm lens, hand held! I was bracing against the back end of the car, but still, I was quite pleased. Of course the bird helped out by not moving at all while I took the shot.

Jiminy Christmas, that is good work! The kestrel and Monjeau Blue are an amazing compositions.
