The death of a child

Really makes me angry. I see no reason why an eight year old should be given a semi-automatic weapon to fire. He lost control of the Uzi and it fired directly into his head.

The gunshow was advertised as "adults and children can fire semi-automatic weapons!"

sick

Eight year old child dies.

:iagree:
I mourn for the child and wonder about the dad, but.......

I too love guns. I like sport shooting {targets} my hunting game days are long past.
Having said that, NO WAY would I let my eight year old shoot any of my High Power guns. No way would I have a need to shoot a full auto or even a semi auto UZI let alone let an eight year old child try it. {what is the purpose} that gun has only one purpose and that I myself am not interested in at all.
Prosecution of the responsible partys would not be beyond the realm of reality to me. In fact more the thing to do than not!
Just an opinion of a try very hard to be, responsible gun owner and advocate. When I taught my Boys as youngsters to shoot it was with a small caliber {22} rifle and pistol BUT with Very close supervision and very STRONG enphasis on safety. Further more they were told {and I meant it and they knew it} that I would sacrifice my enjoyment of guns and burn them all if they didnt comply with my wishes concerning guns and responsibility.

People like that shouldn't be allowed to have children or guns.

Folks, I'm going to leave this thread and ask for thoughts and prayers for the family and the child; but I'm going to lock it. Thanks for your understanding.
